I sought Dr. Farin’s expertise, as a second opinion, and undoubtedly she was the surgeon for my cervical spine. Her thoroughness, and bedside manner, won me over. As I recover, a heartfelt thank you for the continued kindness, not to mention, the first-rate skills!

Dear Dr. Farin, On this Thanksgiving 2021 weekend, I need you to know how extremely thankful I am for you. Exactly one week ago today was my anterior approach three level fusion/hybrid with artificial disc surgery, and I am more pain free now than I have been since 2008 when I injured my back in the US Coast Guard. I was permanently retired from the Coast Guard for this condition in 2012, and I have endured a very long road of conservative treatment. While those treatments have been effective for short term relief, they have also proven to just mask a deeper issue in that sometimes things are just broken and they need to be fixed. You took the time to listen to my struggles, and you truly care about me as a patient. More importantly, I feel you care about me as a person and knew that what I was experiencing before surgery was painfully debilitating. The passion I see in you for your work is unrivaled while the compassion I feel as your patient is unremarkable. I was hanging on to hope for my physical health by what felt like one thread, and within one week post op I am hanging on to a whole rope of braided threads. To have the bottom three discs of my spine removed while being fused at two levels with artificial disc at L3/4, and to be walking around the block with my daughter today is nothing less than a Miracle. I am only 44 and I have longed in desperation to be healthy enough so that I can be an active dad. My kids are 12 and 10, and today was the first pain free walk I have experienced ever with them. With tears of joy as I write this, I am truly blessed to have you as my doctor. You and this Thanksgiving will always hold a very special in my heart. I will always be grateful for you, and your healing hands!

I had awful sciatica for three years and nothing was helping. I finally saw Dr. Farin and we determined surgery was my next option. I was terrified but Dr. Farin put my nerves at ease. She is kind, communicative, and to the point. I wouldn’t want to have gone through this process with anyone else. Thank you Dr. Farin for resolving my pain and helping me get back to my normal self!

Dr. Farin is the best! She is easy to talk to and listens attentively. She's been my doctor for about 5 years now. I have many issues in my spine and Dr. Farin supports a conservative treatment plan. She doesn't "push" surgery unless it's the only option available. I like that she spends time with you and doesn't rush you to go to her next patient. She's great at ordering images if need be. Not only is she a outstanding neurosurgeon but she's a wonderful person. I feel very fortunate to have her as my doctor!

Dr. Farin saw us today and went over my CT of my cervical spine after surgery. Everything is now perfect and we are extremely satisfied with her care. I was on the verge of using a walker, however, after consulting Dr. Farin, she has greatly improved my quality of life and now I don't need any help walking. I believe her name should be "esperanza" which means hope because she gives so much hope to patients who are in great need of help. We are so grateful for her and her care for me and my family. Thank you so much Dr. Farin. God bless you always. You are an angel.

Meeting Doctor Farin was one of the best things that ever happened to me. After seeing another surgeon that wanted to do multiple surgeries in a much more invasive way, Doctor Farin assured me that that was not the case. She did the neck fusion for me in one surgery in the least invasive procedure. Her caring bedside manor is absolutely amazing. She really cares for and looks out for her patients. She checked up on me every day while I was in the hospital. She is a phenomenal surgeon and person. If you have any issues that is in her field, I highly recommend you at least have a consultation with her. That is what I did. After meeting with her, I knew I didn't want any other surgeon to do my surgery. I also want to give a shout out to Ann, her office manager. She was wonderful the whole time (before & after the surgery) helping me with any and all processes that needed to be completed. You will make a big mistake if you do not at least have a consultation Doctor Farin.

Doctor Farin’s approach was straight forward and to the point, my mother of 84 years old needed to have a tumor removed from her brain, after the consultation with Dr. Farin I felt that she was the best one to do the surgery. There were issues between my self and my sister who did not want the surgery, Dr. Farin went out of her way to have numerous discussions with us to help ease my sister’s anxiety. Once the surgery was complete the tumor was removed 100% my mothers recovery has been phenomenal Dr. Farin was a Godsend and I’m very very thankful she was available and so helpful. I first saw Dr. Farin in 2019 because of persistent, debilitating low back and leg pain after unsuccessful spinal fusion and disc replacement surgery in 2017. The surgeon who performed that surgery had no explanation for my continued pain. Standing or walking for more than a few minutes was excruciating. At my first visit with Dr. Farin I immediately felt her concern. She was extremely attentive and determined to figure out what was causing my continued pain. She ordered every scan and test possible to diagnose the problem. I had never seen a doctor review an MRI with such thorough determination. I remember thinking she was like a “detective” solving a mystery. She discovered a portion of the disc implant from the 2017 surgery was impinging on the thecal sac in my spine. That was the cause of the extreme nerve pain in my back and leg. I was devastated when she told me the only alternative was to remove the defective implant. Because of my fear of the revision surgery and its potential risks, it took two years to decide to get the surgery. My quality of life was severely impacted. After Dr. Farin reviewed updated scans at my subsequent appointment in early 2021, the implant was clearly protruding further into my spine; I had no choice but to have the surgery. Because of the complexity of the surgery, Dr. Farin went so far as to confer with a panel of top surgeons to determine the safest plan of action. I’ve never experienced such care from a doctor. Following eight hours of surgery and six days in the hospital, I felt immediate relief. She checked on me several times while in the hospital and her bedside manner was unlike any I’ve ever experienced. Unlike after my surgery in 2017, I am now able to sit, stand, and walk without pain. It literally feels like a miracle. Dr. Farin is an exceptional surgeon; down to earth and a total professional. She gave me my life back and I am eternally grateful.

Dr. Farin is one-of-kind in her field. Way beyond 5-star in my opinion. Among numerous great specialists I have (not bragging), Dr. Farin is the most dynamic by far. Her hand-picked surgical team must meet her standards of excellence and trust or go elsewhere. That simple. And a special personal shout-out to Ann, personal assistant to the Doctor. Fabulous person. My cervical spine surgery was performed March 10, 2021. Complex laundry list of things to rebuild. Dr. Farin was totally honest about expectations. Too much stenotic erosion and other degrading factors over many years meant that my neck would always be slightly forward, BUT that any further damage would be eliminated. Dr. Farin gave a nearly 79-yr old man his quality of life back. Thank you eternally Dr. Farin. Just read her bio. You will understand Dr. Farin.

There is no way I could find more knowledgeable and caring person than Dr. Farin. Living with a lots of pain for few years to becoming disable and losing the hope until finding incredible surgeon and person like Doctor Farin was blessing for me. Today is March 08, 2021(18 days after surgery) and I couldn't believe that one day I can walk, sit, sleep without pain. The first day I visit her office in Long beach, I was impressed by the way of she explaining and making sure that I understand what was causing my pain. I was suffering with back pain and pain was radiated to my buttocks and legs for few years due to injurie from sport as well as car accident until about a month ago pain became so severe that make me disable. On Feb 16, 2021 my wife had to take me to ER (Long beach Memorial Hospital), since walking become impossible for me and I though I am totally disable. Make the story short on Feb 17, 2021 I had the surgery done with incredible result of being pain free right after the surgery and able to stand and walk next day and being discharge also next day (Feb 18, 2021). I should add that I have seen another Neurosurgeon 1 year and half prior but I have been told that I do need screws in my back and has to be through my stomach and will be serious surgery which scared me enough of not doing that. I am so grateful knowing Doctor Azadeh Farin and would like to thank her million times again. Also I would like to thank the entire personnel working in Memorial hospital, specially those who was caring for me on the time I was hospitalized and of course I would like to thank Ann (Dr. Farin's office manager) for coordinating everything and being so caring person as well. I wish I could give Dr. Farin and her crew 100 star.

Dr. Farin has been very great in explaining all my records versus some of the doctors who just look at them and tell me to come back.
